This is going to be a long post but I don't feel bad about it because I feel like every moment from this family trip needs to be documented. There are a ton of pictures so I will tell about the trip as we go through them.
First off, we have a video somewhere of this, Michael and I booked the trip. We decided to wait until 2 weeks before the trip to tell the kids. I bought them Mickey clothing and we wrapped it up and had them open it. Oh man, their reactions were so perfect. They were thrilled. So while waiting for the departure date to come we watched Disneyland parade videos on YouTube and planned out all our travel details. We figured since Michael was off work still, we might as well go for 10 days so we could really enjoy our trip and get lots done. We ordered the California City Pass (3 Disneyland parkhopper days, San Diego, and a Legoland day). So the trip was booked and off we went!! We flew out of Kalispell and got to LAX late at night. Got our rental van, and drove the 2 hours to San Diego while the kids slept.
Off we go to Kalispell. We are so glad we brought our Chariot... you will see why later on.
We stayed in a homeaway rental and THANK GOODNESS they had pancake mix. Because we got in around 2 in the morning and we had no breakfast packed.
First ride of the trip.. We headed to Seaworld first and Ty's favourite ride of the whole trip was probably Journey to Atlantis. Okay I think that's the only photo I took the whole day, but we were busy getting wet, eating food, watching sealions... it was fun! After Seaworld we googled a good place to find seafood and went to this super cool harbor in San Diego and we ordered Seafood soup and clam chowder. We sat outside on a little ledge and it was SO cool and memorable for all of us.
Going to LEGOLAND. The boys are big into Lego so we were excited for this day.
We found Wild Style!
I hope these photos are clearer than they are looking right now. There was a super cool water ride and we took turns going on it and LOOK HOW SOAKED WE GOT. I was in jean shorts, which wasn't ideal, but it was pretty hilarious how wet were were. There's Ty in the background trying to get other people wet with the watergun.
Ah, sleeping in a home rental was risky this time because they had NO PLAYPEN. Ben wasn't amaaaazing, but for this moment it seemed that all was well on some blankets on the floor. Mornings weren't fun because he was all over the place bright and early.
Our first beach day. We left 3 days available for us to go to different beaches. First up was La Jolla and it was so fun to be able to take the kids there. One thing I learned though.... Taking a crawling baby to a beach isn't fun. They crawl in the sand, make a mess, want to eat all the time but there is sand everywhere, and they wont nap. Bah. It was a little frustrating but we still managed to enjoy it. Ty and Noah even went in the water and got their hoodies really wet. Take them off! haha
We stopped at some stores and bought some sand toys and a beach blanket (and we even brought the blanket back home with us).
I've always wanted to see the San Diego temple in person! We walked around it and the kids thought it was pretty cool.
Dang they are cute!
Our forever family.
Ty kept wanting a picture with everyone, and especially in front of the flowers.
Waving!
On our first Disney day we woke up insanely early and walked to DL. As we were walking in the speakers were playing "Part of your World" and I just felt like it was all meant to be. Talk about perfect timing. My favourite Disney song of all time being played as I walk in... What are the chances? haha. So we got to DL about 45 mins before the gates opened so we could be one of the first in because we wanted to go to Tomorrowland first and we heard it was so busy. Ahh, so many good memories just flowing right now. I included a bunch of photos of us that the park took of us on the rides. We loved these because Noah went on all these big rides and looked TERRIFIED in these photos, but then came off and said he LOVED them. We always had a good laugh.
The high requirement for most of the rides, the some of the best ones was 40". We were sad because we measured Noah before and he was about 38.5". Once we got there he was exactly 40"!!!!!! It was amazing because he could go on almost all the rides.
First ride: Space Mountain. The kids LOVED that one.
First cotton candy. We also tried the Watermelon Cotton Candy. We weren't sure how much food we were going to buy there but we just ended up fully embracing the food and ate a lot of it, and yep, it was worth it. There were so many yummy things. The turkey leg (we got 2), bread bowls, Matterhorn Macaroon, Churros, Dole Whip, Milkshakes, Monte Cristo, Fries.. we tried it allllll.
These matching shirts were adorable, and everyone in DL wears Disney gear so it was fun to be doing the same.
Noahs favourite ride... Splash Mountain!
This right here is why were were happy to have the Chariot. We could stay as late as we wanted and they just slept in here. Apparently no one really had Chariots in the USA, because people were always looking at our stroller and asking us where we got it.
Day Two. You need to understand on Day 1 we stayed from 8am-midnight. We took advantage of every moment. The parade, fireworks... we did it alllll. So we were exhausted, but so excited for another day. Day 2 was devoted to California Adventure Park. Tower of Terror was revamped and changed to Guardians of the Galaxy and had just reopened 10 days before our trip. So we headed there first. We waited in a line for 1 hr to get Fast Passes for it. WORTH IT!! It was amazing, and thrilling!
THIS PIC is sooooo cute! Here we are about to go on the Cars ride. It was another amazing ride.
On the ride before the real fun began. We had no idea.
LOL this photo. Imagine dropping a couple story's at a time. FREE FALLING. Guardians of the Galaxy was so fun but I was worried about Noah. Despite this pic, he loved it.
Carsland!!
Cars ride again...
We found mater!!
Waiting in line for the Ferris Wheel. SO long and not worth it. That thing is slow, and so freaking high and scary. I did not enjoy it, haha.
So high up!
I was pretty proud of myself for getting Ben to sleep for the World of Color. It was incredible and I couldn't help but have tears in my eyes. I LOVE DISNEY!
We took a Beach Day!! Both our beach days so far were chilly so I guess being buried in the ground would help, haha.
After trying to get him to sleep for a while he fell asleep on the way back to the van. Look how cute this sandy baby is! Once we were done the trip he was sun kissed and if you opened up his arm rolls they were white inside!!
We went to Toonetown and a worker said "Want to come meet Mickey? He will be here in 1 minute". We didn't have to wait in a line or behind anyone but we walked right into this room and we got to meet the famous Mickey Mouse. Ty and Noah were thrilled, Ben was terrified.
This baby was a TROOPER. He was so good and just napped whenever in the Chariot. He loved the Whinnie the Pooh ride, and The Little Mermaid rise, just like me!
You'd be surprised how much work it is for me to turn these pictures. I'm not doing it.
I think between the 3 park days we were in Disneyland for over 30 hours.
Man, I wanna go back. Nothing beats this trip!!
We came off a late night ride to Ben sleeping in Michael's arms. So sweet!
Playing at the end of the hall with their Pokemon cards.
We had such a blast I think we could have stayed longer. We want to go back someday once Star Wars Land is finished... I cannot wait!!
